Pine Cove 2009

It's with mixed emotions that I write about Logan's first camp experience.
Logan is far more confident and secure than I was at 7 years old
and
for that I am grateful.

He is spending this week at Pine Cove Christian Camp in Tyler
and
I'm assuming having a great time
(since I can't have any contact with him for the week)!
I have NEVER gone a day without atleast speaking to him.
My mom and I dropped him off on Sunday afternoon
and
we get to pick him up bright and early on Saturday morning -
I can't wait to see his sweet face!!

Logan's thoughts on going to camp was,
"I may not know anyone now but I will when I get there".
Wow! I'm blessed and thankful to have a child that is so secure with himself.

Isn't that exactly how we want our children to be?
Confident, secure, and indepedent?
I know, that he knows, that I am always with him - even when I'm not.

Creative Genius

Logan is such a creative genius!
When I picked him up from Oak Forest Montessori School last week,
he was excited to show me his lastest creation!
He had spent his freetime making this mask.
I must say I was very impressed!!

Ellie Eddy

February 20, 1918 - June 16, 2009

My GRANDmother/Logan's GREAT grandmother is now walking on streets of gold with Jesus.

Knowing that she is no longer with us, on earth, is bittersweet. I am going to miss her like crazy. She is one of the sweetest, kindest, toughest, and loving ladies I have ever known. I am so proud that I am her granddaughter. She leaves quite a legacy - one that I am so proud to be a part of!

Logan and I were able to spend a day with her just a few weeks before she met Jesus face-to-face. I don't know who enjoyed it more - her or us!

Gone Fishin'

Logan decided to spend a week with my dad this summer!
(NOT overnight as he just lives a couple of miles
down the road from me)
My dad drove to my house each morning to spend the day
with Logan while I worked to pay the bills :)
On this particular day my dad decided to take Logan fishing -
the first time in a boat (without me). My dad knew that within
30 minutes to an hour Logan would have had enough.
Well, SIX HOURS later -
Logan was still not ready to come home but I was ready for him to!
The pictures above are some of the fish
he caught. My dad has the picture I want......
Logan sitting in the live well with the fish swimming around him.
Oh boy!
My dad said that he turned around for a second and the next thing he
knew Logan was "swimming with the fish". Logan just wanted to play with them!!

I have to get my hands on a copy of that picture....it is too cute!

Longview World Series Champions!!

Well, they did it!
The Tampa Bay Rays won the city championship!
We had a TERRIFIC swimming party to celebrate!

Whew...What an April/May

Lets see:
In April we went to Dallas/Ft. Worth for Spring Break....
Logan's choice!
I told him he could go "anywhere" he wanted
and
he chose Dallas...
so off we went for a fun-filled week.
We were able to visit Six Flags, the Ft. Worth Zoo,
and many fun restaurants with shopping in between.
We are almost to the end of baseball season.....
three games left.
Our team (Tampa Bay Rays) is doing really well
and
Logan is enjoying himself.
He loves to bat but isn't much on playing in the outfield!!
Oh Well!
Logan's 1st grade year at Hudson PEP is coming to an end.
Field Day (Fun on the Farm) was yesterday.
It was so much fun!
I cannot believe that I am the mom of a (almost) 2nd grader.
WOW!
We have enjoyed Hudson PEP
and
I'm thankful for the education he is receiving there.
He was tested for Gifted & Talented and made it!
I'm happy about this because he definitely needs the extra challenge!
All in all life is grand!
I couldn't be any prouder of Logan.
He is a blessing and after 7 1/2 years of loving him -
I am still amazed that I can't quit staring at him (he's so handsome),
I never tire of hearing his voice,
I still love the way his hand feels in mine,
and
I'm still incredulous as to why the Lord chose me to be his mom.
Life is Great and God is Good!
