I'm Back!

Gosh!  There has been a lot that has happened between December (the date of my last post) and today.  Today is my 9 month wedding anniversary.  In one way it seems so much longer and in other ways I cannot believe it has been nine months. 

I have finished my LAST (academic) semester at Stephen F. Austin, and I will student teach in the fall.  I am so excited!  Yesterday I found out 1/2 of my student teaching assignment, and I burst into tears.  It was not a pretty cry but a full fledge ugly-burst-of-unexpected-tears.  I could not be happier with my placement (3rd grade, Hudson PEP).  I still do not know where I will be the other half, but I do know it will be in Pre-K or Kinder.  I know the Lord will place me with the children I need the most and that need me.  No worries. 

Darin works all the time and helps coach Jackson's baseball team.  He is my encourager and rock.  I am blessed. 

Logan is finishing his fifth grade year and will be moving on to middle school.  He will be on the tennis "team", band, and hopes to participate in robotics next year.  It seems like he was just born yesterday.  Time truly does fly.  He is such a joy!  I have never gotten over the blessing of the Lord choosing me to be his mom.  I remain honored and humbled.

Jackson is finishing his sixth grade year and will be moving to junior high.  He is in the band and plays baseball.  Jackson will be attending band camp this year at (none other than) SFA!  He is beyond excited.  I have fond memories of majorette camp at SFA, and I've encourage him and told him how much fun he will have.

Life is finally slowing down.  I am looking forward to a "free" summer; the first in SIX years.  I am not taking any classes this summer, and I just want to enjoy my family.

Hudson PEP has a 5th grade band and they are really good!  (They also have an orchestra and choir; they performed tonight as well.)  All of the 5th graders did an AWESOME job!

We didn't have a Plan B.

 

Who would have thought that a hot day in August would be the receiver of a torrential downpour?

 

I could have let it {the rain} ruin my day but instead, I smiled right through it.

 

We had our small family ceremony at Lake Cherokee.  We made it through the ceremony without any rain but almost as soon as it was over the rain started coming down.  I didn't get nearly the amount of pictures I wanted but......

 

Meanwhile, at our reception sight, everything was being set-up OUTSIDE!!  I'm so thankful for good GREAT friends.  They moved everything indoors and we carried on.

 

This day was one of the best of my life!

MIA

I haven't been posting much (or anything) lately.  I'm sorry.  I've been a bit busy:  working full-time, planning a wedding (VERY simple wedding, but there's planning to be done none-the-less), school (ugh!), packing (double ugh!), church camp, Sunday school, and trying to spend as much time with Logan as possible. 

It's just crazy right now!

Lego Robotics

LOGAN MADE THE 6 o'clock NEWS!!

Logan attended LeTourneau University's Lego Robotics camp last week and had a blast.  He was filmed quite a bit on Friday because the robot he and his partner made kept winning the competition!  The filming done on the robot was Logan's 'bot as well!

I'm SUPER proud!

He is going to attend Lego Engineers:  Powered Machines and Space Camp/Rocket Science in a couple of weeks.  I love the camps because they aren't only fun but educational as well!

Welcome to the Family...

After our devastating loss this week, Logan decided to get a new pet - not to replace Romeo but to help us heal.  He thought it would be a good idea to adopt a pet and save a life.  So, that's just what we did.

We visited the Humane Society of Northeast Texas.  Logan knew he wanted another small dog (but not a chihuahua that looked like Romeo) but wasn't sure what kind or what they would have available.  He was immediately drawn to, Shammie, the filthiest and scruffiest dog in the place!  She had just been placed on the available list.....

They have a playroom where you can take the dogs to checkout their personalities, play with them, & fall in love with them (they know what they're doing!) - so, we did.

Since it's going to be four of us soon, I had to get permission to add another dog to the mix.  Thankfully, Darin was very much okay with the idea.  (He had already thought about surprising me with a dog.)   So, I filled out the paperwork, waited on pins and needles for adoption approval, paid my fee, and we were out of there.  

I drove straight to the store to buy TRIXIE-BELLE a new bed and Dawn dish detergent (because of it's powerful flea killing power!).

Trixie has proven to be an excellent addition to our family.  She is 1 year to 1 1/2 years old, healthy ~ all 5.4lbs of her ~ loving, devoted (to Logan), smart, and HOUSE-TRAINED (shewwww).  She is already spoiled and knows it!  She's the perfect lap-dog but also loves to play.
