Memorial Day ~ Thank You

There aren't many more honorable things, I can think of, than serving our country.

I'm thankful for all of the men & women
 ~ past and present ~
that have sacrificed for the USA!

Here are some pictures of my dad:

And here is a video of sailor that is near and (very) dear to my heart.

AWANA Grand Finale

Another AWANA year has come and gone.  It's always bittersweet:  I'm always ready for a break but I miss my girls like crazy and look forward to it starting again in September.

I am SO proud of Logan.  He completed another book this year.  This takes a lot of work and determination.  I wasn't so sure that he was going to finish his book this year but he did it......at the last moment.

Waiting on the ceremony to start.

Logan's friend ~ Carson.

How Much Will It Rain?

Logan was required to do a science project this year.
Here is a sampling of his work....Good job, Logan!

Romeo & Logan setting out the rain gauge.

How much has it rained?

Yes, I'm mean.  I made him check the gauge - even in the rain!

Turtle

Dr. Ross brought me a turtle, for Logan, that he found in his yard. Logan loved it - as he loves all animals!

Letting him go!

Gamelan Xylophone

Who knew that one day I would be an instrument builder?  Certainly not me!  In one of my classes this semester I had to build a Gamelan instrument.  I didn't even know what a Gamelan instrument was.  However, after MUCH research, I came up with the xylophone.  Thank goodness my dad was able to help and he has power tools.....

This much dreaded project turned into a lot of FUN!  The grade I received wasn't too shabby either (100)!

AWANA Grand Prix, April 18, 2012

Each year AWANA has a Grand Prix race and it is always tons of fun.
This is the first year that Logan has painted his car and designed it (pretty much) all by himself.  It's also the first year he has walked away without a trophy.  Bummer!

The race went well, he was proud, it was a successful night!
