Camping in DeQueen
My Little Man, Coco and I set off for Arkansas last weekend to spend time with my dad. He, my dad, "left us" and went to Lake DeQueen for TWO WEEKS and Logan couldn't stand it!
Logan has become quite the outdoors man and loves to fish!
(I can't stress enough how happy this makes my dad!)
I was reminded, once again, what a simple person I am. I don't require a lot of material things to make me happy....thankfully this is a quality that Logan possesses as well. We both marveled at the beauty the Lord has provided for us....the lake, the sunshine, the trees, and the list goes on and on!

I'm a Stalker....

Ok....Yes! I stalked my son the first day of school. I'm a mom and it's what we do! I have always picked Logan up from school (always...he's only in the 2nd grade!) but this year I decided I needed to work more which meant he could come to work with me or go to after-school care. HE chose after-school care which meant riding the bus. Huge "letting go" step for me - but after two days I have decided it was a good step. However, the first day was hard. I parked next door to OHBC and wedged myself in between two cars (so I wouldn't be discovered by Logan) and waited....and waited! I just HAD to make sure that he made it on the right bus and remembered to get off at the right place.
The white dot is Logan!!
Buds for Life

Alittle background on Colton & Logan -
They are "destined" to be friends!!
I have been friends with Colton's mom for 35 years
and Colton's dad for ~33 years!
What is even more ironic (for lack of a better word)
is that Colton and Logan are the EXACT same age difference
as Kim (Colton's mom) and me.
I took Colton & Logan for a day of fun on Friday.....
just what they needed for Back to School. We went bowling,
to the movies, and ate some yummy food!
I love these two boys!

Pine Cove 2009

It's with mixed emotions that I write about Logan's first camp experience.
Logan is far more confident and secure than I was at 7 years old
and
for that I am grateful.
He is spending this week at Pine Cove Christian Camp in Tyler
and
I'm assuming having a great time
(since I can't have any contact with him for the week)!
I have NEVER gone a day without atleast speaking to him.
I have NEVER gone a day without atleast speaking to him.
My mom and I dropped him off on Sunday afternoon
and
we get to pick him up bright and early on Saturday morning -
I can't wait to see his sweet face!!
Logan's thoughts on going to camp was,
Logan's thoughts on going to camp was,
"I may not know anyone now but I will when I get there".
Wow! I'm blessed and thankful to have a child that is so secure with himself.
Isn't that exactly how we want our children to be?
Confident, secure, and indepedent?
I know, that he knows, that I am always with him - even when I'm not.

Ellie Eddy

February 20, 1918 - June 16, 2009
My GRANDmother/Logan's GREAT grandmother is now walking on streets of gold with Jesus.
Knowing that she is no longer with us, on earth, is bittersweet. I am going to miss her like crazy. She is one of the sweetest, kindest, toughest, and loving ladies I have ever known. I am so proud that I am her granddaughter. She leaves quite a legacy - one that I am so proud to be a part of!
Logan and I were able to spend a day with her just a few weeks before she met Jesus face-to-face. I don't know who enjoyed it more - her or us!
Gone Fishin'

Logan decided to spend a week with my dad this summer!
(NOT overnight as he just lives a couple of miles
down the road from me)
My dad drove to my house each morning to spend the day
with Logan while I worked to pay the bills :)
On this particular day my dad decided to take Logan fishing -
the first time in a boat (without me). My dad knew that within
30 minutes to an hour Logan would have had enough.
Well, SIX HOURS later -
Logan was still not ready to come home but I was ready for him to!
The pictures above are some of the fish
he caught. My dad has the picture I want......
Logan sitting in the live well with the fish swimming around him.
Oh boy!
My dad said that he turned around for a second and the next thing he
knew Logan was "swimming with the fish". Logan just wanted to play with them!!
I have to get my hands on a copy of that picture....it is too cute!
